W8 is not the same thing as W8.1

You may have troubles because of W8.1. No one technical communication mentions W8.1 support until now. And this may be your problem.

As by "alternative software" what do you mean?

His only "alternative software" is a downgrade to Windows 8.

A tip for him: don't be so fast to get new windows versions. Applications need to be tested before to run on this kind of OS.
W8.1 in my computer just next year...

I am in POA. As far as I know there is no option for Pimphony in OXO.
